American Ideal’s progeny now has in excess of $110,000,000 in earnings worldwide including over $18.6M in Australia. American Ideal is now the sire of thirteen millionaires Ten of those are in the USA and Copy That is just short of becoming his fourth Australasian millionaire, with My Hard Copy, Soho Tribeca and Bling It On already there.
The first American Ideal crop from his debut at Llowalong Farms had an auspicious run at the 2022 yearling sales - on average, his stock returned SIX times the service fee - and he notched several records. An American Ideal colt topped the APG Perth sale at $150,000 a WA yearling record price, while in Sydney, the only colt to break $100,000 at the APG sale was an American Ideal colt ($120,000) and another colt was equal sale topper at $150,000 for the Nutrien sale.
Very few stallions can lay claim to making a book by what would many pundits would say weren’t first-class broodmares but American Ideal can. As time has marched on, the mares in his court are now amongst the best on offer. American Ideal has indeed been a pedigree elevator as a sire!
American Ideal crosses successfully with many maternal lines. Amongst the most prominent are Art Major, Real Desire, Christian Cullen, Village Jasper, Falcon Seelster and McArdle. Bettor’s Delight and Somebeachsomewhere are also important future crosses that will work.
Again in 2023, American Ideal will stand in Australia at Llowalong Farms in conjunction with Woodlands Stud NZ.
